Hamdy Elgammal

Hamdy Elgammal joined the lab as a Computer Systems Engineer in May 2014. He has been involved as a software engineer in projects like Berkeley Data Cloud (BDC), a data-service aimed at handling terabytes of background radiation data and IDAES (Institute for the Design of Advanced Energy Systems), supporting the next-generation of chemical engineering modeling and simulation. He has most recently been involved as a lead software developer on MINOS (Multiple Informatics for Nuclear Operations Scenarios), a data-service designed to handle terabytes of data from heterogeneous data sources and making it available to a network of analysts across the national labs. Before joining LBL, Hamdy worked in industry for a year. He received his B.Sc with a major in Computer and Communications Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University in 2013.
