Hamza El Bouhargani
Hamza El Bouhargani is a postdoctoral researcher in the Physics Division at Berkeley Lab, working with Reijo Keskitalo and Julian Borrill. His primary research interest is in the analysis and interpretation of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) data. He works on different aspects of data reduction, including mapmaking, noise modeling and characterization, as well as systematics assessment and mitigation. He also works on the development of novel methods and numerical algorithms and their implementation in massively parallel software suitable for solving the large linear systems that arise in these problems.
Hamza received his Ph.D. in Astrophysics in 2021 from the Université Paris Cité, under the supervision of Radek Stompor and Josquin Errard from the AstroParticle and Cosmology laboratory (APC) in Paris and Centre Pierre Binétruy (CPB) in Berkeley. Hamza is currently involved in the CMB-S4 and Simons Observatory experiments.
