Cooper Jacobus

Cooper Jacobus is an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley and intern/affiliate at Berkeley Lab's Computational Cosmology Center, where he currently works with Zarija Lukić on the new generation of mocks skies.
Cooper's scientific interests are physical cosmology - the history of the growth of structure and complexity in the universe, and machine learning for physics - improving and accelerating traditional computer simulations using machine learning surrogate models. In addition, Cooper is passionate about science communication and likes sharing the excitement of cosmology with the public.
