Postdoc

Anupam Mitra (he/him) is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Applied Computing for Scientific Discovery (ACSD) Group, within the Applied Mathematics and Computational Research (AMCR) Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's (LBNL) Computing Sciences Area. His research focuses on advancing quantum information processing, with a particular emphasis on entanglement dynamics and analog quantum simulation.

After completing his undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Physics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) in India, Mitra developed software for classical computers prior to returning to academia for his Ph.D. in Physics. As a Ph.D. graduate under the guidance of Professor Ivan Deutsch, his dissertation explored neutral atom entangling gates and studied analog quantum simulation of many-body physics.

At LBNL, Mitra develops tools for quantum computing paradigms utilizing neutral atoms and analog quantum information. His research aims to push the boundaries of our understanding of quantum computing and its applications.

His publications can be found on his Google Scholar page.
