Peter McCorquodale is a computational scientist in the Applied Numerical Algorithms Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is a developer of the Chombo package, and his research is in numerical methods for partial differential equations, particularly high-order finite-difference and finite-volume methods with adaptive mesh refinement. He is applying these methods on mapped multiblock grids to fusion edge plasmas with the Edge Simulation Lab collaboration, and also to global atmospheric dynamics simulations.

Peter joined the Applied Numerical Algorithms Group as a post-doc in 1998 after receiving his Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds a B.Sc. in mathematics from Simon Fraser University, Canada, and an M.S. in mathematics from Stanford University.
