Giulia Guidi is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at UC Berkeley and a graduate research assistant at the Computational Research Division of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory advised by Aydın Buluç and Kathy Yelick. Giulia's research is focused on the development of a novel algorithm to de novo assemble genomes using long-read sequencing data. She is collaborating with Marquita Ellis on distributed memory parallelization of her algorithm. She received an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering (2018) and a B.Sc. (2016) in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. Her research interests are Parallel Computing, Computational Genomics, and Applied Mathematics.
