Title:
Tuning a High Performance Math Library for AMD64 Technology
Abstract:
This talk will focus on the design, tuning and performance evaluation of the AMD Core Math Library (ACML). ACML provides application developers with a rich set of highly tuned linear algebra routines including BLAS, LAPACK and Fourier routines. A detailed examination of AMD Opteron hardware, optimization of codes for this hardware and performance evaluation of ACML results will be presented. The tactics of cache blocking, attention to prefetching and register renaming are used in the tuning of ACML for the Opteron.
